E-Commerce Times has a good article on leveraging the cross-channel elements of your business to effectively recruit and drive member participation in a loyalty program, but misses the key binding concept: you need to take all of the tactics the author mentions, and make sure they play in well with the overall loyalty strategy. For instance, the tactic of communicating with your customer via text message to their cell is great if your brand or program is emphasizing limited time promotions, or being “in the know,” but not so good if it’s a non-points/promotion program, designed to deliver overall shopper satisfaction.

Still, like any good cook, I encourage you to sample from this author’s ingredients and consider adding them to your own recipe for success.
